Passive Voice
Stronę bierną tworzy się poprez odmianę czasownika TO BE w tym samym czasie co zdanie wyjściowe w stronie czynnej oraz dodanie past participle, czyli czasownika w 3 formie.
Przykład 1:
They did it - Past Simple - Active Voice
It was done - wciąż jest to Past Simple [was], 'it' stało się podmiotem zdania, czasownik w 3 formie to DO - DONE, w zdaniu Active występował w formie drugiej - did
Przykład 2:
People have seen lots of wolves in the streets - Present Perfect
Lots of wolves have been seen in the streets - strona bierna, czas Present Perfect
Podobnie wygląda to z użyciem czasowników modalnych:
A: You must do it
P: It must be done
A: You should heve told them
P: They should have been told
Czas Continuous:
A: They are watching the movie
P: The movie is being watched - by zachować czas Continuous, musimy czasownik To BE dać w tym samym czasie co z zdaniu Active, czyli BE + czasownik w formie ING
A: They are building two houses
P: Two houses are being built
